Do you know the leading and lagging indicators for the economy and your industry in particular? For example, Cisco is viewed as a leading indicator for the technology industry since its customer base covers multiple segments of businesses. When CEO John Chambers reported an upswing in revenue for Cisco’s quarter ending 1/31/10, industry observers viewed the news as good for the industry as a whole.
